4" High-End Shielded Woofer 8 Ohm - AAW418Polypropylene cone with perfect balance of stiffness, mass, and self-damping High loss rubber surround offers high excursion and long term durability High power handling voice coil Damping dust cap Rigid aluminum die-cast frame Symmetric Motor Drive (SMD) technology. Designed and engineered in the USA
The AAW418 offers natural and detailed sound performance with very low distortion. The design of this driver is based upon the benefit of an extended pole piece in a magnet system. Finite element analysis (FEA) simulation was used to optimize the magnet structure and specifically to shape the pole piece to achieve symmetric flux distribution along travel path of the voice coil. This design provides better driving force linearity and it also considerably reduces VC inductance modulation and DC offset of the moving system at high power levels. The result is much less distortion and more effective VC cooling. The aluminum die-cast frame has been developed to minimize parasitic structural resonances and dissipate VC heat rapidly.
This woofer is a perfect match for the AAT2BH8 Tweeter in a 2-way speaker cabinet.
