The design of AAW61A4 driver is based upon the benefit of an extended pole
piece in a magnet system. Finite element analysis (FEA) simulation was also used
to optimize the magnet structure and specifically to shape the pole piece to
achieve symmetric flux distribution along travel path of the voice coil. This
design provides better driving force linearity and it also considerably reduces
VC inductance modulation and DC offset of the moving system at high power levels.
The result is much less distortion and more effective VC cooling. The
cone/surround design is optimized to achieve extended and balanced frequency
response without apparent top end resonance. The back of the composite speaker cone (layered aluminum, foam, and fiber glass) is manually
coated to maximize damping properties of the moving system. The massive aluminum
die-cast frame has been developed to minimize parasitic structural
resonances and dissipate VC heat rapidly.
AAW61B4 is a high performance driver with extended bass reproduction. This
driver is an excellent performer even in bigger size cabinets so it can be used
in top class floor-standing systems.
