These new black caps turned out to be exact replacements for these speakers' 8 inch drivers' dust caps. Over time and use, these two, 15+YO? Event 20-20 Studio Monitors lost one dust cap, (the other was almost off too). I bought two new caps. After putting wadded up paper towel in the coil former throat, I carefully chipped off the remaining cement on the cone. Then I CAREFULLY sanded the cone's glue line with 320 grit to raise some tooth on the poly, the same for the glue lip of the new dust caps. Applied the cement with the speaker on a rotary table, installed and lightly weighted the dust caps while the glue set. I let them set for 24 hours before playing them. No issues and good for another decade or two. PS, wiped down and polished up the old cones and new dustcaps with Novus #1 plastic treatment. All one color now and the Novus product removed some marks left behind from the work.
